Why
Have you ever tried Piadina at Guzzi’s? This lovely Belgian couple went to Italy on holiday and tried this quick delicious plate and fell madly in love with it. They adored it’s simplicity in ingredients and the easy non-pretencious way of serving it. They called it an honest and simple meal, maybe that’s the reason it’s similar to the type of food served in the Eastern Roman Empire. They’ve so decided to import this Italian delicatessen and open a Piadina place right here in Antwerp nearby to Grote Markt.
What
Piadina is a thin Italian flatbread originally prepared in the northern region of Emilia Romagna, the dough it’s made of: flour, olive oil, lard, salt and water. It can be prepared with any genuine ingredients like salad, ham, tomato, cheese, parmesan, veggies, etc. Guzzi’s serves Piadina and some other little things for breakfast like croissants and waffles. Lovely is their terrace with the beautiful view on the Cathedral, check out the pictures.
